Yes I did follow the correct torque sequence for the initial bolt installation. Wasn't too concerned at first because when running the end seals it is always a little difficult to get an aluminum to align just right. But after numerous attempts with all kinds of bolt loosening and trying, I knew something wasn't right.
Thanks for the idea Mac. I'm just waiting for that e-mail from some kind soul who'll let that old Ford FE aluminum intake go to a proper home at a reasonable price.
I'm half ready to just order an Edelbrock RPM. But I really wanted this engine to "look" like an original '60 352HP which would be difficult with the e-brock RPM. I can't see from their website pic that there is provision for an oil fill tube and for a '60HP rear draft tube.
