Graphics
In the olden days, most programming languages had very little support for graphics file formats other than windows bitmap. So, back when, we developed Graphics Viewer and it was a big hit. We even made it into The Encyclopedia of Graphics File Formats, 2nd Edition. It progressed from the original DLL to a VBX and finally the last release as an ActiveX. It still works on all versions of Windows and is especially useful for creating charts or images on the fly in web pages. So we've kept it around for old time's sake.

It kept us going for quite a while and ended up at places such as Allied Signal, Australian Broadcasting Corp., British Petroleum, The Detroit News, Federal Bureau of Investigation, K-Mart, Lucent Technologies, NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, New Jersey Transit Authority, Prince Edward Island Dept. of Highway Safety, Siemens AG, Sunkist Growers, Inc., University of Maryland, University of Queensland, University of Tokyo, University of Washington, United States Navy, and Volkswagen AG. Just this summer (2014), Boeing bought five copies. Beats us what they're going to do with it.

GVBox.OCX will read ART, BMP, CUR, CUT, DCM, DIB, EMF, EPS, GEM, GIF (including animated and transparent GIF images), HRZ, ICO, IFF, IMG, JPG, LBM, MAC, MSP, PBM, PCD, PCX, PGM, PIC, PNG, PNM, PPM, PSD, RAS, RLE, TGA, TIF, WMF, and WPG file formats.

It also has limited support for Kodak Photo CD, Adobe Photoshop PSD format, Encapsulated Postscript, and RAW images from Canon, Casio, Epson, Fuji, Kodak, Minolta, Nikon, Olypus, Panasonic, Pentax, Sony, and many other digital cameras. Based on code developed by Dave Coffin. Avalable for an additional charge is a DLL that will read Dicom medical image formats.

GVBox.OCX has most of the methods and properties of standard VB6 Picture Box controls and many other features.

You can download a demo which includes a VB6 project that has examples on how to use it and you can purchase GVBox from our Order page.
