John, some times its better to run the whole base circal of a camshaft to fine low-ist point. Most base circals are not perfectly round, useing the book method you can be off as much .002 to .003 or more! Get a bump button and hook it to your starter selanoid, start on either bank at front, do one rocker at time!. Bump the engine untill the rocker comes off the cam and start checking all the way around the base circal, you will fine its most accurate way to set them. PS it can change the the duration of the cam at each valve if there not set correctly good luck. Ray |
