Hi Royce, I read your post at Network54, The 427 marine engines (centeroilers) were produced by using side oiler castings but never machining out the side oiler journal or the hex plugs. This is why a lot of people read the casting numbers and think they have side oilers when, they have center oilers. This is a different casting the 63- 65 vintage center oiler block. These engines are great for Kit cars (there are plenty of them out there, they need to go in something) I currently am building a 452 TP Marine engine that will go on a motorcylce, yes insanity hase its privledges.
