I have one in my 63 Galaxie. Just make sure you get one for an FE. Bellhousing bolt pattern is unique for the FE. The trans is the same length as the cruisomatic, but the crossmember has to move back approx. 2-3". Crites sells plates that bolt onto the frame and you can shift the crossmember back. I had my crossmember modified, so it bolts right in without plates. Also, the shifting linkage has to be dealt with. Works great and handles alot more power than the cruiso. Good luck
