Yes, I'm pretty sure that you're correct that your '65 has a MX/Cruisomatic. Obviously you've got the car starting and running. I believe the external balance flexplate you have for your 428 is correct and I believe this flexplate works fine with a '65 cruiso. The ring gear tooth count is the same for '65 & later....I think? Must be okay because your starter is engaging and starting, right?

A vibration can be from many areas. It might be the engine. You say it's in the engine? It's sure hard to tell via talking on the internet. It might be the transmission? It might be the driveshaft/U-joints?

I think you might be wise to have a couple of professional opinions provided by people who can look, listen and drive your '65 in person.
