C6 flexplate does not work well on an FMX.

The C6 tranny will fit the FMX, but it may damage the front tranny pump because the C6 flexplate has a different offset stamped into it. This may also place extra force on the engines thrust bearing at the #3 main. I've only read about the offset in Ford documentation - I haven't studied it yet, and I don't know what the offset differential between the two is.

The 410/428 never got an FMX, so you can be sure if it's an offset-balanced FE flexplate it's for a C6.

Can you tell us more about the engine? Are you certain it's a 428?
