Clean off a little more grunge there and see if that 1 isn't a 7.
If it is, and I have a strong hunch it is, you may have a heavier duty block but you won't know until you tear it down or at the very least remove the pan and look in there.
If it's a FT 361/391 C7ME block, it will be very likely a heavier duty block. Often these can make good 428s. But still have it sonic tested/checked for cylinder wall thickness.
And as always, if it's a 361/391 FT, you'll have to get that special little bushing we like to always remind each other about.....C4TE-12367-A. It's the little jewel that Ford designed to allow the use of a FE/auto/light truck distributor in a FT block which had a larger distributor shaft. |
