Time to practice. Don't laugh, this works.

Wet the street in front of your house and practice taking off. Once you learn the art of taking off on the dampened street, you can launch a musclecar with narrow OEM tires on the dragstrip. Racers in the 60's with high powered S/S cars drove off the starting line by feathering the gas pedal.

Also try adding air to the rear tires instead of letting them down. You get a better footprint.
