| WOW! timing is everything! just did this. the trans shop took my old trans and a 73 truck C6 and made one out of the two. i explained what i wanted and they put it together. the trans selector now sits next to n for drive (mine is in a 62 but used the trans and linkage from a 66 donor as it is a bolt in). the shift linkage is about the only special part although they used the mainshaft and tailhousing so that may be special as well. they said they could just switch the valve body but i talked to them about the weaker design of the 66 and so they did it the way i asked. they were surprised when they got them apart and had the parts side by side. i guess they never looked at a 66 trans before. hawkrod |
