how do you know it is a 428....

the numbers on the outside will not tell you what is on the inside. 428 blocks use the same casting numbers as 352 360 and 390 blocks. if you are using one of the identifier lists to check casting numbers be aware that all of the lists are pretty much junk as after 66 almost any engine can have any casting number. you must check the bore and stroke to verify a 428. hawkrod
