		Took a 428 CJ out of a 68 Mustang and recommend removing the transmission first.  Bell housing and starter can stay. There is barely room going forward and up to remove it. There is more room forward than I thought. It'd be interesting to know how it was put in on the assembly line.
  Take a look at the pattern on the shock tower reinforcement and it appears to be cut out to allow the engine and exhaust to nestle in with not more than 1/16 to 1/8 clearence between exhaust manifolds and shock towers. Hope this helps.  |
