the 427 dual point was available for years through the ford parts system and the muscle parts program. this would not have been out of an original car as none of the late 68 or early 69 cars came with this one (or if it is a motorcraft instead of autolite it would be 78 or 79). it was a very popular item and wasn't dropped until the early 80's if i remember correctly (i have one with a 73 date code that is labeled motorcraft myself). hawkrod
