the S intake is not special, it is the same as.... By hawkrod - 09/04/2002 6:54:19 PM; IP 198.81.27.7 all full size cars from 66-70. the purpose of the S has been discussed numerous times but the concensus was it was designed for the low hood line of the thunderbird (S code in ford parts jargon like Z is mustang). ford parts books do not show any other 4 barrel cast iron intakes for FE's from 66-70 except the S manifold (66 and 68 versions), the 69 390 mustang/torino, and the CJ. it is possible that the S manifold is higher than earlier 4 barrels and trucks but it is not a special part. hawkrod
