Dave, you're misunderstanding this. C8AE-6881-A is the one and only car filter adapter still available and IS the adapter you refer to as the one to get. The C8AE-6881-A is the one and only CASTING number on the HOUSING. Accept no substitutes. The PART number on the BOX is c0az-6881-a and is how one would order this item. I wouldn't even hazard a guess what would happen should you try to order the part by the casting number. The two numbers have mutually exclusive meanings.
Perhaps this is just one of those things where one has to go to their Ford dealer, plop down their 38 or so bucks, and get one to understand the distinction.
