Any idea where the date stamps would be located on the exhaust manifold?

I believe the intake date starts of C6xxx

I'm wondering, because the car was built in June of '68..did Ford run out of parts and grab older model parts in their inventory?

Why would someone switch a 390 for a 390 ?
