You would be better off having the oil baffels installed. Without them the valve train geometry will be off. The oil baffels are thin but that figure will have to multiplied by 2 because it will affect the pushrod length as well as the valve length. You could give it a try. You may even get by just fine but Im sure you will start experiencing some oil consumption due to oil being "sucked in" by the intake guides. The baffels direct the oil away from the guides.
