I agree with you Steve that the '66 Cyclone GT was a great car. It was essentially the same car as its Ford counterpart, the Fairlane GT & GTA. Interesting to note that the Cyclone was not differentiated by name/badging. If you had a Cyclone GT with stick or Automatic it didn't matter, it was a GT with the 335 horsepower 390GT.
To clarify a bit more on Tom's original fiberglass hood question, all factory stock Cyclone GTs came equipped with the fiberglass simulated dual scoop hood. This hood was optional for the Cyclone purchaser. He/she could order their Cyclone with a 289-2V and the cool hood if desired.
John's is right on with the info about the very rare "functional" dual scoop to a single 4V fiberglass hood. It was available to the serious C stock competitors. |
