VCT solenoid By Benno - 07/14/2003 10:02:03 PM; IP 12.81.192.148 I have a Contour with the Zetec engine. The VCT solenoid is not working (Resistance is infinite). 1) Is there a way to just replace the solenoid or do I have to replace the whole assemply? Where do I get a replacement part? I can't find anything at Fords or Motocrafts web parts store. 2) Is it normal, that the camshaft is flipping forward by the pressure of the valve when a cam goes past the maximum opening position? Isn't the VCT mechanism supposed to be spring loaded so that it also would work without oil pressure? Does anyone know? Thanks, Benno.
