they are readily available and inexpensive. don't bother with ebay as they tend to sell for more than you can get one for at your local parts house. also modifying a 390 is a waste of time as the effort costs more than a new one. as always when building an engine be sure to get it balanced but do not let them alter the balance of the harmonic balancer or flywheel/flexplate. if those items need replacing they have to be modified to match if the original spec is altered. any balancing should be done on the crankshaft for the whole rotating assembly so that standard replacement parts may be used in the future. hawkrod |
