The starter fit and the pin bosses look like FE.

I suspect it was cast as an FE bellhousing, since it has the early-style starter hump, the FE starter bolt pattern, and the two FE-positioned dowel pins appear to be cast into the bellhousing flange.

It appears to be missing the full-circle engine plate, as the plate shown is not a safety-style plate.

I've never heard of this one before. It looks like a neat piece of FE history.
