I'm looking at a 427 engine and I need a little help decoding it.

On the block it says

C4AE and the numbers 6013

by the oil filter is says 5J1 it looks like

on the flat plate in front of the oil filter on the front of the engine it has what looks like a lightly stamped "R" and in the lower corner of the plate a "HP" with what looks like a large "2" turned sideways. On the driver's side it has a large "11."

Heads say C4AE on both but the right has the # 0906 G and the left has 8090 G and the letters DIF on both

Carbs are Holley with one 1850 (front) and the other 1131 (rear)

Can anyone here shed some light on exactly what this engine is or what it is from?

HELP!
James

Yeah, sorry - no casting decoder. But thanks for the plug. :-) [n/m] -- Mr F, 03/05/2004
