steve on the heads i,d have hard seats instaled for the exaust valves and gides make shure the gides do not exstend past the casting into the exaust portes the hot exaust gasses will couse the gide to gauld to the valve runining your day i allways install seats in exaust i see alot of fe heads with erouded seats the gass wear i live seams hard on them and i see gides on exaust valves shot with less then 20000 miles on them becouse of the gides exposed in the exaust portes.....if you have a good shop dooing your head work thay can check your springs for the cam you chouse i check springs all the time dont hold your breath i rarely find a set i,d use...and if your going to run it hard one pice valve retainers are a must i,v sean tomany two pice stock ones break
