| I have a 312 v8 that is in my aunts 56 tbird which hasn't started since 1994. The engine was rebuilt in the 80's and only has about 10,000 miles on it. The deal was she got a new car in 1994 and stopped driving the car altogether. I thought my brother was starting it once a month or so and taking it for a small drive here and there-but noooo, it didn't happen. So far I drained about 5 gallons of varnished gas from the tank and I heard that I should put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders and let it sit for a bit. What about the carb? It looks perfect, but I'm sure it is not-it has the original Holley tea pot style 4v carb. The trans still has nice pink fluid in it and hasn't leaked a drop. The car has been in my aunts garage all the time covered up, so I'm sure the brakes need going thru(next time). Is there anything else I should do to the Bird to get this engine fired up so as not to hurt the rings? |
