RE: C6ME Block

This block was yellow which I think was the engine color for Mercury's of that era? The motor is in a junk yard and is complete from air cleaner to oil pan. I am worried that the inside of the engine might be all rusted up. Without having it sonic checked is there a way to tell if it is a thicker wall casting?

I am planning a buildup for an FE this winter and I would be interested in your combo that you plan on using for yours.
