Is that a cold or hot reading? What weight oil are we talking about? At what rpm are you getting that reading? It could be fairly normal if this is a cold start at 2k rpm with 40 or heavier weight oil.

Pressure specs are always referenced with an engine at operating temperature at a specified rpm (usually 2k rpm) with the factory-recommended fill (10W-30).

As to an oil recommendation, use the lightest oil that will give you at least the minimum specified pressure if we're talking normal use. It really depends on how you use the vehicle and what time of year it is. A heavier weight in the summer months and lighter for the cooler winter. You're more concerned with oil temperature and since hardly anyone uses an oil temp gauge, you kind of have to ballpark it.
