converting hydraulic block to solids

I'm trying to convert from a hydraulic cam to solids. For further info, read my post and replies several back. Does anyone have personal experience converting from hydraulic lifters to solids in a hydraulic block? I plugged the oil galley for the lifters as per "the books'" advice. Then somebody else says all you have to do is restrict the oil flow to the heads to increase the amount of oil available below. Any one with personal knowledge on this?
