390 head choice

i have a 390 that currently has c8ae-8 heads and fpa headers in a 1967 caliente.the motor is shot so i bought a used 64 tbird 390 with c4ae-g heads.i plan on installing the 64 short block but i dont believe the c4 heads will fit with my headers-the exhaust ports are too high on the heads.
so if i put the smaller cc c8 heads on my 64 block will i have any problems?
my 64's compression is 10 to 1 factory and will the c8 heads raise it too high for pump gas?
i would rather use the c4's but i can live with either one.
thanks edward
