I agree with giacomo regarding the tall or large intake port heads. I believe they are the way to go for high performance based mostly on that's what Ford engineering did when they designed and cast the C8OE-N 428 Cobra Jet head.

But I will always respectfully disagree with regard to the early intake design vs. the '66 & later design. My firm belief or opinion(and alwasy open to enlightenment) is based on the design of the cast iron Cobra Jet intake manifold. This intake's runner exit ports are identical to the '66 & later -S- intakes.

But I want to close that I agree again with giacomo as far as using your C4AE intake. It'll work great for what you have planned.
