If you are worried about ethics you could always sell the car to someone else who will then rebody it and have an "original" R-code Galaxie for themselves.
In the confines of a garage, do you actually think panels are cut off a perfectly good rust free body to repair a rusted out hulk? Get real. The only cutting done is where the serial numbers go. Most restored factory racecars led a rough life in their early years. This type of "facelift" is common in the restoration game. It is just rarely spoken about in open conversation. Two legally titled cars enter the garage and one restored one emerges. The other is cut up, scrapped out, and the title is turned in showing the second car was junked. End of deal. Another rare musclecar is saved. |
