yes, that is true but it was not a shortage issue By hawkrod - 07/22/2004 4:41:30 PM; IP 64.12.117.11 that was a supply contract. ford contracted with BOP to supply heavy duty 3 speeds for GM intermediates. same as delco supplying starters for 460 fords and rochester supplying carbs for 429 CJ's. that is a supply contract and is not unusual in the industy. but unlike what has been suggested, this was not a case of using whatever was laying around, these were well negotiated contracts that were signed well before production started. hawkrod
