Carb float chamber leak By Bigmo - 09/02/2004 4:26:23 PM; IP 216.228.4.59 Hello, advice needed please on 1974 Ford Gran Torino Squire Brougham station wagon 400 6.6 litre engine with a 2 barrel carb. I smelled fuel when I shut down the engine and tracked it down the float chamber, after sitting it is empty evidently leaking into the intake manifold. I cleaned the silt out of the chamber and around the jets, this seemed to put a stop to the problem but it is getting worse again. Question is do I need a re-build? is it complicated if I buy a kit? any advice will be greatly appreciated, Thanks Billy
