I used one on another engine (not an FE) back in the 70s when they first came out. Its performance was no better in any rpm range than the factory 2bb. I also drove a 390 Tbird over a period of time that had one. Same impression. No improvement off idle and certainly not better as rpm rose.
It was an interesting concept but it didn't play out in reality. It suffered from poor mixture distribution primarily. I call it the chicken soup manifold...it can't hurt but it won't help, either. It'll save some weight over an iron manifold but that's it's only redeeming value. |
