Here's the only pic I have of a '67 390GT intake with the tube attached. The front end screws into the fitting on the intake and the rear end uses a short piece of hose to connect to the other fitting. The end of the long hose attached goes to a right-angle fitting in which the PVC valve is screwed into. The PVC then inserts into the valve cover grommet. The Ford technical stuff I have read refers to this as a balance tube. They say by connecting the two intake runners the PVC gets a better signal and if the PVC were to be connected to only one of the ports, there would be excessive pulsing at the valve (plus I think it would lean out that runner). Ok, enough babbling, here's the pic:
