According to my research only one 1961 Ford set a NHRA National in the early to mid 60's. Don Sauer set the A/SA record on May 18, 1963 at Pomona, CA in his 1961 Ford. He set the record at 13.53 seconds.

Using the NHRA classification guide and my 1961 NHRA rulebook I find that several 1961 Ford body styles using the 390/401 engine fit the A/SA class.
