NHRA National Records

It should be noted that while NHRA had been allowing national records to be set in the dragster, altered, etc. classes since the mid 50's, Stock/SS records were not set until Oct 1961 at York US 30 Dragstrip. And that was done as an experiment to see how much acceptance would come of it. Needless to say, it was a success and still continues to this day.
