The 390GT was rated at 320hp-335hp depending on
year while the base 390 4v was 315hp for 1966. Of
course that's gross HP, so net HP will be less.
The main difference is in the camshaft. The 390GT
got a better camshaft which probably added about
20-25 net HP. Keep in mind that the previous owner
could have swapped that out long ago, since you
already have a mix and match engine. |
