You did not say what kind of head gaskets.

If they are Fel Pro or Victor composition gaskets, I would not coat them with anything.

Simply clean the mating surfaces with brake or carb cleaner and make sure it is dry before installing and torque to spec.

If they are steel shim or copper, better ask someone with ‘speriance.
