the rear seal can be a real bitch somtimes to replace it i use a non coated brazing rod i have some real soft ones. i use the rod to coax the old seal out then i use carb cleaner to wash out the old seal pocket then i take the new seal oil it up and slip it in dont forget to pull the pin in the lower half that held the rope tipe seal it will deform the new styel then instal the new seal with 3/8 of a inch of it in the cap to block so the split of the seal is not split with the halfs i also dab a littel permetex super blue on the cap sides and corners the side seals that drive in i freeze one at a time with liquid propane and drive it in with a hammer and wen thay thaw out thear perfect the melling hv pump is my choice in most of my bilds if your going to race it you might go to a deaper pan i,v used the hv in many stock bilds with no problems |
