Yes, it's worth sonic checking if you're looking to build an FE with 4.13 bore. The C6ME/C7ME plus the same with -A, may be good......"May be" is the key. You just really don't know until sonic mapping/testing to find out what you've got for cylinder wall thickness.
I talked to a guy at a local swap meet last weekend who claims that any C6ME-A block will bore to 4.13. He's running one at that bore with '28 crank in a '57 Ranchero and has had no problems.
I think he got lucky. I would still not bore a 4.0 or 4.05 bore FE block to 4.13 without sonic mapping. |
