The C6me-A block can be a 390 or 428 blk. If you want to know if it is a 428 blk, knock out the freeze plug on either side in the middle. You will have to clean the floor of the coolant system between 2&3 and 6&7. In the floor will be cast 428. The other quick check is to take a 7/32 allen wrench and try to push it between the cylinders. If it doesn't go it is a 428 (larger cylinder casting), it it goes it is a 390 and cannot be bored to a 428 safely. These blocks were quite common in the 66 T-bird. |
