I was wondering the same thing. I have Hooker Super-Comp's on my 67 Mustang. They bottom out like crazy, but they don't leak :-) I put bolts in every hole I could get to.

I've never seen any dyno numbers for the FE, but the magazines (I'm sure you've seen this) claim anywhere from 7-15 hp by swapping out the factory 5.0 headers for aftermarket. I don't know about you, but 15 hp isn't worth the headaches at every speed bump.

Does anyone have headers on an FE in a Mustang/Cougar that doesn't bottom out?

I guess another option is the factory cast iron headers. Unfortunately they must be made of gold (weight + cost).
