390 with oil in the coolant

I have a 390 engine with the C7MEA code ,It has the 390 Gt heads and I have bolted on a edelbrock performer rpm intake.
My problem is that I am getting motor oil into my coolant system no coolant comes into the oil.The engine performs reasonably well.I have a melling high volume oil pump installed.I purchased this engine freshly rebuilt by a reputable machine shop.I have pulled the heads but can't really tell .One side (drivers side) had much more sludge in the coolant passages than the other.I am running a 4 spd so it's not transmission oil
leaking over.Any ideas?
