The shock towers themselves do not need any modification to fit a 429/460. I have installed many a 385 series into 67-70 Mustangs and Cougars. Sure,its a tight fit,but they do clear,unless the receiving vehicle has "shock tower fade",that where the towers are leaning in towards each other from years of use without an export brace. Sometimes when trying to put one on,you have to spread the shock towers apart a little,to get the export brace on. But,a 429/460 will fit without modification.
