I have to agree, lots of swivels and extensions. On very hard to reach plugs I have used these two tricks, First, often a T-handle with the swivel built in can most times get to it. You can usually find these in the bargain bin at most auto-parts places and as long as you are not reefing on them, they will last. Second, Most spark plug sockets are 3/8 or 1/2 drive, find a 1/4 drive and use 1/4 extensions and U-joints then adapt up to 3/8 at the rachet. Of course you could always use the 57 dodge hemi trick and drill out 1-1/2 inch holes in the fenderwells and take off the front tires to change plugs, easier than removing the engine each time. Oh to re-install plug without crossthreading those rare 427 medium riser heads, use a piece of hose that fits the plug secure, it will bend and allow you to hand start, and it secure enough, to tighten to the point where all you will need is to seat it with a rachet |
