Yes,but when was the last time you saw a Windsor ever running against a Hemi? The blocks in NASCAR Fords are based on the Windsor design with Cleveland style heads on them, the best of both worlds! The oiling system on 460's are better than FE's,Im talking about all the FE's except the side-oiler,check it again Whole lotta tom! In the 70's when NHRA pro stock was emerging on the scene,it was the 351 Cleveland that did most of the winning. Dyno Don won a national event in 1971 with a cammer powered Maverick, but the rest of the decade belonged to the 351C,not the 427FE! Same goes for NASCAR racing. In the 70's when they said everyone had to run small blocks,Fords responded with Cleveland power again. In fact,Fords were the first to have to run the restrictor plates because they would pull away at the top speeds against the Chevy's. In the high RPM's, the 4V heads would keep pulling where the SB Chevy's fell off. |
