Sam the RPM is the key factor here and the quality of the components 2nd I believe .... The stock 428CJ is dead and burried at about 5400 rpm. The use of headers, cam, big mufflers etc will raise this but not much in street trim even street race trim the 428 IS A TORQUE MOTOR. Sure the stock NHRA guys are pulling big revs but that is not a street car by a long shot. The Quality of the flywheel like the quality of all used FR stuff is doubtfull I love used LeMans Rods ---------- They dang well might have seen LeMans for 24hours. Or perhaps some Bozo turning his SCJ Mach to 7000. Good components such as Hays, Centerforce, Zoom/Perfection are good all day at the revs you will see on the street. However second hand and Cheapo stuff???????????? Finally the factory cast bellhousing is far superior to the modern aluminium stuff and the very design of the Cast Iron tends to throw a clutch out the bottom |
