How is FE oiling better than the 385? Are you on drugs? Any engine that oils the rocker arms first (and the cam),is not a good performance design. There is no way the FE oiling system is even close to the 385! The 385 oils the crank and cam at the same time,the FE oils the top of the engine first,then lets the rest starv for whats left. Besides,look at the holes for the oil passages in a FE block,over half of them dont line up with each other,and that small main oiling hole from the pump to the block is a joke! The one on the 385 is the correct size to begin with. You must be unknowing of these facts,you probably have never even had an engine apart before,because if you did,you would spot these FE deficiencies right away! BTW, the 385 doesnt need to rev to 7000+ to make power like the FE does,so if it does have a lesser oiling system,it not being stressed like the FE's is. |
