Original Message
What gives . . .?

OK, this is NOT a question about an FE, but I thought maybe one of the epxerts here could answer it because no one on the General Forum knew the answer.
After rebuilding my 289-2V, the guy gave me back a bunch of the parts, including the old rocker arms. Each rocker arm has an "A" and a three-digit number stamped -- not cast -- into the top. Each number is different and they are not consecutive, i.e. 425, 123, 597 etc..
Any idea what they are for?
