Interested to know where you got the steel crank. The only 428 steel cranks I know off are billet or heavily reworked 391/427 cranks. I bracket race a 428 and am using a small Comp Cams roller in mine and beleive it would work well in a well prepared street car. I use the straight 288R cam but after using it I would reccomend the 288R intake lobe with the 308R exhaust lobe. The engine would still idle at 1000 or so and pull to the 7000 your steel crank is good for. What intake are you using, a Blue Thunder with welded crossover would be a good option. You need an 850 to go with the other peices.
